Almost 63 years after independence, Nigeria has her first female Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF). She is 58 years old Dr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, who appointment was ratified by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.<\/p>\n
The appointment was confirmed in a circular with reference number OHCSF\/COMMS\/PR\/2023\/24, dated Friday, May 19, 2023 signed by the spokesman of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mohammed Abdullahi Ahmed in Abuja.<\/p>\n
In the circular, signed on behalf of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi Esan (CFR), it was clearly stated that Madein\u2019s appointment was approved by Buhari.<\/p>\n
According to Esan, her appointment was sequel to\u00a0 the successful conduct of a selection process to fill the existing vacancy, adding that the appointment takes effect from Thursday, May 18, 2023,\u00a0 and she is to assume duty immediately.<\/p>\n
Madein was born on March 7, 1965 in Iperu Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area (LGA) of Ogun State.<\/p>\n
Until her new appointment, she was the Director of Finance and Accounts in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, OHCSF.<\/p>\n
