Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, whose ticket was a source of heated contention bounced his way back to his Yobe North Senate seat.<\/p>\n<p>But Governor Ben Ayade only has three months to go in the corridors of power as he lost his bid to return to the Senate, from where he came to be governor for eight years.<\/p>\n<p>Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State was trounced in pursuit of the Enugu North senatorial district seat.<\/p>\n<p>In Lagos State, many were surprised that Labour Party&#8217;s candidate was giving former governor and All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Senator Bola Tinubu, a bloody nose at\u00a0 a point. It is not clear if Obi will eventually humble Tinubu in Lagos, amid allegations of violence perpetrated against his supporters. Now, Tinubu leads Obi slightly.<\/p>\n<p>In Benue, the Rev. Hyacinth Alia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Alia is the APC gubernatorial candidate who is well loved by the people, &#8220;not necessarily the party,&#8221; an observer said.<\/p>\n<p>In Cross River North senatorial district, the incumbent,\u00a0 Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, was re-elected.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Jarigbe, the PDP candidate got 76,145 to defeat governor Ben Ayade who polled 56, 595 votes in the exercise.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_55706\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-55706\" style=\"width: 221px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-55706\" src=\"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/download.jpeg-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"221\" height=\"228\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-55706\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cross River Governor, Ben Ayade<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Many took to social media to mock Ayade. One stood out. It read; &#8220;Despite all these big names for the State&#8217;s Yearly Budget from 2016 to 2023, the Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade, still lost his Senatorial ambition.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; They wer: 2016 Budget = Budget of Deep Vision<\/p>\n<p>2017 Budget = Budget of Infinite Transposition<\/p>\n<p>2018 Budget = Budget of Kinetic Crystallisation<\/p>\n<p>2019 Budget = Budget of Qabalistic Densification<\/p>\n<p>2020 Budget = Budget of Olimpotic Meristemasis<\/p>\n<p>2021 Budget = Budget of Blush and Bliss<\/p>\n<p>2022 Budget = Budget of Conjugated Agglutination<\/p>\n<p>2023 Budget = Budget of Quantum Infinitum<\/p>\n<p>As part of its winning streak in Lagos, the LP&#8217;s Thaddeus Attah beat show business personality defeated Banky W of the PDP in Saturday&#8217;s election for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.<\/p>\n<p>Attah got 24,075 votes, Mr. Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) had 18,666 votes, while APC&#8217;s Babajide Obanikoro garnered 16, 901 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Details of Lagos results at about 4.30 a.m. for the presidential election showed Obi polled 449,088 votes while Tinubu got 416,431.<\/p>\n<p>Obi is leading with more than 35,000 votes in the results of the election with for 17 local governments areas announced so far.<\/p>\n<p>Though Tinubu won in the 10 local government areas of\u00a0 Agege, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland and Surulere; Obi was tops in Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, Somolu<br \/>\nEti-Osa, Amuwo Odofin, Ikeja, and Ajeromi-Ifelodun.<\/p>\n<p>Three local government areas are being awaited.<\/p>\n<p>Former governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo of the PDP won the Gombe Central North Senatorial District, defeating incumbent Alhaji Saidu Alkali of the APC.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Umaru Gurama, the Deputy Vuce Chancellor Administration Federal University of Kashere (FUK ) and Returning Officer of Gombe North announced the result on Monday in Malamsidi headquarters of Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe .<\/p>\n<p>He said that Dankwambo polled 143155 votes to defeat his closest rival, Alkali of the APC, who scored votes 77,948, according to a News Agency of Nigeria report.<\/p>\n<p>He said 239,339 voters were accredited but 237,116 voted.<\/p>\n<p>NAN also reports that Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Chief Okechukwu Ezea of Labour Party (LP), winner of Saturday\u2019s general election for the Enugu North Senatorial District.<\/p>\n<p>The Returning officer, Prof Chukuemeka Ubaka, announced the results early Monday morning at Nsukka INEC office.<\/p>\n<p>Ubaka said Ezea scored a total of 104,492 votes to defeat his closest rival, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who scored 46,948.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the APC candidate, Mr. Simon Eze came third with 6,816 votes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on the power given to me as the returning officer, I hereby declare Ezea as the winner,\u201d Ubaka said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the night, the mighty fell, but one or two stood.
