\nA High Court in Ado Ekiti has thrown out the suit asking that the Judicial
\nCommission of Inquiry to probe the financial dealings in the Minister Kayode Fayemi years in Ekiti State be dissolved and members sent home.
\nThe Minister of Solid Minerals Development was Governor of Ekiti for four years, but failed to get a second term; and his predecessor, Ayo Fayose, wants to know how he utilised the financial resources that came his way between 2010 and 2014.
\nAs far as the court is concerned, Fayose is lawfully empowered to set up probe panel without recourse to the state lawmakers.
\nJustice Lekan Ogunmoye, who delivered the judgment in the suit said Governor Fayose acted pursuant to Section 2 (1) of the Commission Inquiry Law Cap C10 Laws of Ekiti State.
\nGovernor Fayose had in May, this year, constituted a judicial panel, led by a former acting chief judge of the state, Justice Silas Oyewole, to probe Fayemi\u2019s administration between October 2010 and
\nOctober 2014 over alleged financial misappropriation.
\nFayemi had filed suit No. HAD\/57\/2017, seeking an injunction to restrain the state government and the Judicial Commission of Enquiry set up by Fayose to probe his administration from
\ngoing ahead with the exercise.
