{"id":58423,"date":"2022-06-23T13:17:50","date_gmt":"2022-06-23T13:17:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=58423"},"modified":"2022-06-23T13:17:50","modified_gmt":"2022-06-23T13:17:50","slug":"ike-ekweremadu-wife-arrested-in-london-for-bringing-in-child-for-organ-harvesting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=58423","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Ike Ekweremadu&#8217;, wife arrested in London for bringing in child for organ harvesting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ekweremadu, wife arrested for bringing child to UK for organ harvestin<\/p>\n<p>Information, pointing in the direction of Nigeria&#8217;s former deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka, has emerged from the London Metropolitan Police that they have been arrested and charged to court for bringing a child to the UK for organ harvesting.<\/p>\n<p>According to the police, \u201cBeatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55 (10.9.66) of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange\/facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIke Ekweremadu, 60 (12.05.62) of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange\/facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have both been remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates\u2019 Court later today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA child has been safeguarded and we are working closely with partners on continued support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs criminal proceedings are now under way we will not be providing further details.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Efforts to reach Ekweremadu on his line were futile as his number could not be reached.
