{"id":57892,"date":"2022-05-30T06:28:18","date_gmt":"2022-05-30T06:28:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=57892"},"modified":"2022-05-30T06:28:18","modified_gmt":"2022-05-30T06:28:18","slug":"apga-senatorial-primary-reps-member-dozie-nwankwo-floors-victor-umeh-to-pick-anambra-central-ticket","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=57892","title":{"rendered":"APGA Senatorial primary:  Reps member, Dozie Nwankwo, floors Victor Umeh to pick Anambra Central ticket"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By\u00a0<strong>Chuks Moses<\/strong>, Awka<\/p>\n<p>The former national chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh has been defeated and stopped in his attempt to go to the Senate, by Hon Dozie Nwankwo.<\/p>\n<p>Hon Nwankwo, who is the incumbent member of Federal House of Representatives for Njikoka\/Anaocha\/Dunukofia on the platform of APGA, polled 162 votes out of the total 323 votes cast to emerge victorious.<\/p>\n<p>He consigned Chief Umeh to second position with 151 votes, while Uzuegbunam Okagbue, the former Chief of Protocol to the immediate past\u00a0 Governor Willie Obiano, came a diststant third with a 10 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Declaring Dozie Nwankwo winner, the Returning Officer of the primary election, Barr. Mrs. Elizabeth Nwokocha, described the process as hitch-free.<\/p>\n<p>A visibly happy and excited Nwankwo, in his acceptance after he was declared duly elected, dedicated the victory to God Almighty. He commended the party leadership,\u00a0 delegates, and members for their diligent efforts; and having implicit confidence in him as exhibited with their ballots.<\/p>\n<p>He also commended his opponents for their spirit of sportsmanship,\u00a0 and therefore appealed to them to join him to ensure a resounding landslide victory in the Feb. 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the graphic presentation of the results as polled by each of the three aspirants in the seven constituting council areas.
