Sen. Aishatu Ahmad, popularly known as Binani, has picked the governorship ticket of the APC in Adamawa with 430 votes.<\/p>\n
Mr Gambo Lawal, the Chairman, Electoral Committee, disclosed this at the end of the primary election on Friday in Yola.<\/p>\n
He said the total votes cast were 1011 out of which 975 were valid votes and 36 invalid.<\/p>\n
Lawal said that the other aspirants were Nuhu Ribadu with 288 votes, Muhammad Bindow \u2013 103 votes, and Abdulrazak Namdas with 94 votes.<\/p>\n
Wafarninyi Theman scored 21 votes.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the power conferred in me as the Chief Returning Officer of this election, I hereby declare Aishatu Ahmad Binani as the winner of the election.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe is the official candidate of APC for governorship election, \u201d Lawal said.<\/p>\n
He said the exercise was successful and transparent.<\/p>\n
In her acceptance speech, Binani who is representing Adamawa central senatorial zone, thanked the delegates for the confidence resposed in her.<\/p>\n
She called on other aspirants to work together for the victory of the party in 2023 general elections in the state and federal level.<\/p>\n
Binani also commended the electoral panel for the transparent election and\u00a0 confidence resposed in them. (<\/p>\n
