{"id":5049,"date":"2017-09-19T13:15:45","date_gmt":"2017-09-19T13:15:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=5049"},"modified":"2017-09-19T13:15:45","modified_gmt":"2017-09-19T13:15:45","slug":"abuja-minister-appoints-commissioners-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=5049","title":{"rendered":"Abuja Minister appoints &#8220;commissioners&#8221;, others"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has announced the appointment of Abuja&#8217;s version of State Commissioners, called Mandate Secretaries.<br \/>\nIn addition, he also named other Political appointees into relevant positions in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), according to a statement from his office.<br \/>\nAnalysys expect that now that he has his own men in place, almost two years after, the territory will take on a new lease of life. &#8220;Abuja has been in slow, \u00a0very slow, motion since he came in. \u00a0Street lights are dead, \u00a0roads are deteriorating, health and other services are on a downward slope; but environmental sanitation is good, \u00a0thievery has reduced, \u00a0FCTA is a ghost town with listless staff in most offices. We hope this is the change needed to re-invigorate this place, &#8221; one said.<br \/>\nThe appointments, the statement said further, are in keeping with his commitment to repositioning the FCTA into a more robust and service-oriented administrative structure and enhancing its operational capability.<br \/>\nThe new appointees are as follows:<br \/>\n<strong>Secretaries<\/strong>:<br \/>\n\uf0d8Adamu Abubakar Bappah \u2013 Area Council Services<br \/>\n\uf0d8Hon. Nzekwe Stanley Ifeanyichukwu \u2013 Agriculture and Rural Development<br \/>\n\uf0d8Senator Isa Maina \u2013 Education<br \/>\nBarr. Amanda Pam \u2013 Health and Human Services<br \/>\nBarr. Muhammad B. Umar \u2013 Legal Services<br \/>\n\uf0d8Oladimeji Ali Hassan \u2013 Social Development; and<br \/>\n\uf0d8Kayode Opeifa \u00a0\u2013 Transportation.<br \/>\nThe Coordinators of Abuja Metropolitan Management Council and Satellite Town Development Department are Umar Shuaibu and Isiyaku Tanko Yamawo respectively while the Managing Director of the Abuja Broadcasting Services is Ibrahim Damisa.<br \/>\nSimilarly, the list of the various Political Aides include:<br \/>\nMohammad Bashir Mai-Bornu &#8211; Chief of Staff<br \/>\n\uf0d8 Dr. Bala Mohammed Liman \u2013 Senior Special Assistant, Finance and Economic Matters<br \/>\nOlafusi Emmanuel Tosin Esq \u2013 Senior Special Assistant Legal and Multi-lateral Cooperation; and<br \/>\nAbubakar Muh\u2019d Abdullahi &#8211; Senior Special Assistant, ICT.<br \/>\nIn the same vein, the following Advisers on Community Relations have been appointed. They are: Chika Alexander Nwatu, Abu Zarr Sulaiman Ribadu and Isa Dara Bwari.<br \/>\nThe Minister stressed that the appointments are as provided by the relevant sections of the Federal Capital Territory (Establishment of Functionaries and Departments) and Ministry of Federal Capital Territory (Dissolution) Order No. 1, 2004 as modified.<br \/>\nThey are also premised on the desire and commitment of the Administration to ensure quality service delivery, particularly social services to the teeming residents of the Federal Capital Territory.<br \/>\nThe appointments take immediate effect, while arrangement for their swearing-in will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has announced the appointment of Abuja&#8217;s version of State Commissioners, called Mandate Secretaries.
