{"id":33945,"date":"2021-06-08T18:08:24","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T17:08:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=33945"},"modified":"2021-06-08T18:08:24","modified_gmt":"2021-06-08T17:08:24","slug":"efcc-arrests-two-for-alleged-n102-3-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=33945","title":{"rendered":"EFCC Arrests Two For Alleged N102.3 Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested one\u00a0\u00a0Emmanuel Obiyan for\u00a0allegedly obtaining money by false pretence and diversion of fund to the tune of N77, 773, 700\u00a0(Seventy-seven Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Three Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira).<br \/><br \/>The complainants, Stephen Chinemelum and Emeka Chinemelum, alleged that their father, the late\u00a0Daniel Chinemelum, sometime in July 2015,\u00a0entered into\u00a0a partnership agreement and\u00a0also\u00a0signed a\u00a0memorandum of\u00a0understanding (MoU) with\u00a0Obiyan\u00a0for the formation of Fedan Courtyard Home Services Limited, a real estate company.<br \/><br \/>According to the complainants, the\u00a0late Chinemelum,\u00a0who was the\u00a0Principal Partner, allegedly\u00a0paid the sum of N52, 000, 000. 00 (Fifty-\u00a0two Million Naira)\u00a0into the suspect\u2019s\u00a0Zenith Bank account number 1011861572 as equity contribution to the business.<br \/><br \/>The complainants further alleged that the suspect, however, failed to render account of the business at the\u00a0expiration of the five-year\u00a0duration of the agreement.<br \/><br \/>Efforts\u00a0by the complainants\u00a0to retrieve the money\u00a0proved\u00a0abortive, thereby necessitating the complaint to the\u00a0Commission.<br \/><br \/>In a related development, the Lagos Zonal Office of the\u00a0EFCC has\u00a0also\u00a0arrested one\u00a0Rasaki Wasiu Adeyiga for an alleged fraud to the tune of\u00a0N24, 260,000 .00 (Twenty-four Million, Two-hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira).<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/461e4922-ac9a-45a6-9af3-16c784b5102d.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33946\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adeyiga\u00a0allegedly presented himself to the complainant, Ahmed Garba Shinkafi, as a businessman dealing in importation of automobiles from the United States of America and Europe.<br \/><br \/>The complainant alleged that he paid the sum of N25m, for the purchase of a Lexus SUV, into the suspect\u2019s account number 0136968208\u00a0domiciled in Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.<br \/><br \/>Investigation revealed that the suspect, however, reneged on his promise and diverted\u00a0the money to his personal use.<br \/><br \/>The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.<br \/><br \/><br \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested one\u00a0\u00a0Emmanuel Obiyan for\u00a0allegedly obtaining money by false pretence and diversion of fund to the tune of N77, 773, 700\u00a0(Seventy-seven Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Three Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira).
