{"id":33352,"date":"2021-05-13T23:11:07","date_gmt":"2021-05-13T22:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=33352"},"modified":"2021-05-13T23:11:07","modified_gmt":"2021-05-13T22:11:07","slug":"police-inspector-two-others-caught-pants-down-operating-as-efcc-agents-commission-alerts-nigerians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=33352","title":{"rendered":"Police Inspector, two others caught pants down operating as EFCC agents, commission alerts Nigerians"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Police inspector and two others were caught right in the act operating as agents of the Economic and\u00a0 Financial\u00a0Crimes Commission while executing a fake Court Order.<br \/><br \/>Ghali Ahmed, Head of the EFCC Zonal Office in Lagos disclosed this at a press briefing in the Commission&#8217;s office, Ikoyi, Lagos.<br \/><br \/>According to him,\u00a0\u201cThe fraudsters were arrested at New Horizon Estate, Lekki, Lagos, in the middle of their illegal operation to \u2018serve\u2019 a Court Order purported to have emanated from the Mushin Magistrate Court, on an unsuspecting victim.\u201d\u00a0<br \/><br \/>The three-man gang of Pascal Ugwu Chijoke, Sodiq Ibrahim Adekunle and Edwin Bassey, a Police Inspector, posing as EFCC operatives allegedly\u00a0stormed the residence of their target with all the paraphernalia of typical EFCC raid, wearing\u00a0fake EFCC branded jackets and identity cards.<br \/><br \/>Ahmed warned Nigerians to be wary of impostors,\u00a0using the good name of the Commission\u00a0to extort\u00a0unsuspecting targets. He urged citizens to be vigilant and report suspicious activities to the Commission.<br \/><br \/>He assured that the Commission is determined to stamp out the activities of impostors. &#8220;We will always be ahead of these fraudsters.
