{"id":32358,"date":"2021-03-31T18:58:37","date_gmt":"2021-03-31T17:58:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=32358"},"modified":"2021-03-31T18:58:37","modified_gmt":"2021-03-31T17:58:37","slug":"efcc-nscdc-to-enhance-cooperation-in-training-and-intelligence-sharing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=32358","title":{"rendered":"EFCC, NSCDC to Enhance Cooperation in Training and Intelligence Sharing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa has reiterated the Commission\u2019s commitment to partner more closely with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, especially in the areas of training and sharing of intelligence.<br \/><br \/>He gave assurance when he received the Commandant-General of the Corps, Ahmad Abubakar Audi at the Commission\u2019s headquarters, according to a statement by the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren<br \/><br \/>The EFCC boss promised to assist the NSCDC in the training of its officers while also expressing the Commission\u2019s desire to have some of its officers trained by the NSCDC in their areas of core competence. \u201cWe are always willing and happy to train your officers, our doors are&nbsp;&nbsp;open to training and we believe that NSCDC will have a role to play in our training in the future, \u201che said.<br \/><br \/>He emphasized the need for both agencies to designate liaison officers for seamless cooperation. \u201cThere is need to have a liaison officer to curtail bureaucratic delays.&nbsp; In the areas of information sharing, we have to strengthen that. We don\u2019t have offices across the federation but you do; you can share those information through a liaison officer. We request that such intelligence are shared.\u201d<br \/><br \/>Bawa commended the NSCDC\u2019s role in securing the Commission\u2019s forfeited assets scattered all over the country. \u201cWe hope and pray that the relationship will be maintained. We are also thankful for the role you have played in handing over cases to us,\u201d he said.<br \/><br \/>He assured that the Commission will do its best in ensuring that the NSCDC is represented on the board of the Commission, \u201cWe don\u2019t know why you are not a board member, but we hope and pray that when the National Assembly decide to amend the EFCC Act, we will see that NSCDC is among the board members.\u201d<br \/><br \/>Speaking earlier, the Commandant-General, Dr. Audi expressed delight at the level of cooperation between his agency and the EFCC. \u201cI have seen the synergy between the Corps and the EFCC; and that is what stimulated me to pay a visit to the EFCC\u201d.<br \/><br \/>Recalling the history of the Corps as an institution that was nurtured by nearly all the security organizations in the country, including the EFCC, the NSCDC boss expressed his desire to have the EFCC train his officers particularly in the area of prosecution.<br \/><br \/>He said the NSCDC, again all odds, has emerged as the elite agency for the protection of critical national assets.<br \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa has reiterated the Commission\u2019s commitment to partner more closely with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, especially in the areas of training and sharing of intelligence.
