Our heroes or heroines however, are but just a reflection of our values and aspirations. We tend to advertise and worship those we admire and long to be like.<br \/><br \/>Paul, in the 3rd chapter of his epistle to the Philippians, gives believers a template for choosing heroes. They should be:<br \/>\u00b6 Believers who are Chris-like in their pattern of life and not just &#8220;Christians&#8221; by name (vs. 17)<br \/><br \/>\u00b6 People who are humble and self-effacing, not proud, self-indulgent and self-promoting (vs. 18)<br \/><br \/>\u00b6 People who live for, and glory in, things of eternal value, not in the ephemeral vanities of this world (vs. 19)<br \/><br \/>We tend to grow in the image of those we love and admire. We need therefore watch those we make heroes of.
