Still in the valley of her thoughts, it’s even more complicated because there’s a third party involved.
\nLara paused, she just couldn’t bear the guilt any more, not just for herself but also for Kola. “No!” She voiced out, \u00a0“I must talk this over with him to ease all these guilt pangs.”
\nPlacing her soft hand on Kola’s head, as a way of suppressing her worries, Lara whispered to Kola in a soft musical tune that melts his heart….
\nKola laid quiet unable to respond to her call, he knew that they were about to cross a very difficult bridge with what she was about to say. His mind raced with the speed of a Chetah pondering over what his dear wife was about to say. He led the devotional time as they executed what he often described as the mini-church time:15 minutes praise and worship in songs; 15 minutes of shared prayer time with him leading; and 15 minutes reading of a bible passage, laced with insights. They spent the last 15 for family matters.
\nToday’s was particularly tense as no mention was made by either of them, again, of the grave sins to be forgiven.
\nKola’s conscience was gnawing at him, as usual, for the hypocrisy of their devotional time. This must be dealt with tonight he swore as he started the ignition and drove off.
\nLara watched him drive away, and the tears began to flow, as it has been doing for weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Written by Mary Babafada.
