{"id":26835,"date":"2020-06-25T21:16:20","date_gmt":"2020-06-25T20:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=26835"},"modified":"2020-06-25T21:16:20","modified_gmt":"2020-06-25T20:16:20","slug":"how-hushpuppi-flamboyant-social-media-celebrity-was-brought-down-in-dubai-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=26835","title":{"rendered":"How Hushpuppi, flamboyant social media celebrity, was brought down in Dubai (Video)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Dubai Police Force, United Arab Emirates, has revealed how it arrested Nigerian\u00a0<em>Instagram<\/em>\u00a0celebrity, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi.<br \/>\nIn a video released on its official\u00a0<em>Twitter<\/em>\u00a0handle on Thursday, the Middle-East police said a special team had been tracking the suspect and his gang\u2019s activities on social media for about four months.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe police revealed that upon the arrest of Hushpuppi and 12 other members of his crew, it discovered that fraud amounting to 1.6 billion Dirham (N168 billion) had been committed by the gang.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mrf-adv sRoba mrf-preInsertedMad mad\" data-placement=\"\" data-madtype=\"sRoba\" data-sectionid=\"home\" data-virtualpageid=\"2\" data-loadstrategy=\"onScroll\" data-refreshfrequency=\"0\" data-layout=\"inline_square_details_s\" data-invalidatelayout=\"false\" data-loadonevent=\"navigationChange\" data-navigationlevel=\"1\">No fewer than 1,926,400 people from different parts of the world were also said to have fallen victims to the suspects.<\/div>\n<p>According to the police, 13 luxury cars, estimated at 35 million Dirham (N3.7 billion) were recovered from the house where they were arrested.<br \/>\nThe Dubai police said the operation leading to the arrests was dubbed \u201cFox Hunt 2\u201d.<br \/>\nWhile footage of the operation played, a narrator said, \u201cIn less than just four months, the Dubai Police Force was able to solve the new operation dubbed Fox Hunt 2, where 12 other gang members were also arrested.<br \/>\n\u201cSix raids were carried out simultaneously while the suspects were sleeping in their Dubai residences.
