{"id":25164,"date":"2020-03-09T17:06:47","date_gmt":"2020-03-09T16:06:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=25164"},"modified":"2020-03-09T17:06:47","modified_gmt":"2020-03-09T16:06:47","slug":"big-haul-of-80-alleged-criminals-in-hotel-for-fraudsters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=25164","title":{"rendered":"Big haul of 80 alleged criminals in hotel for fraudsters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested a 30-year-old Oladimeji Olusegun Ogunfolaju, owner of Lakers Hotel and Lake County Entertainment in Lagos, and 79 others for allegedly involving in internet fraud.<br \/>\nThe hotel, alleged to be a haven for Internet fraudsters, according to EFCC spokesman, Mr. Tony Orilade, is being guarded by armed security men from three security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police and the Nigerian Navy.<br \/>\nThe suspects were arrested during a sting operation on the hotel\u00a0located at\u00a029, Ebute-Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu, Lagos on Saturday, March 7, 2020, following an intensive surveillance and intelligence gathering by the Commission about their alleged criminal activities.<br \/>\nIn his statement, Ogunfolaju stated that he built the hotel, which houses a night club and a strip bar, from the proceeds of internet fraud in 2017.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_25166\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25166\" style=\"width: 165px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-25166\" src=\"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG_0347-165x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-25166\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Oladimeji Ogunfolaju<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAbout 60 of the suspects have volunteered useful information, leading to further investigation.<br \/>\nSome of the items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include exotic cars, jewelry, mobile phones and some documents.<br \/>\nThey will soon be arraigned in court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested a 30-year-old Oladimeji Olusegun Ogunfolaju, owner of Lakers Hotel and Lake County Entertainment in Lagos, and 79 others for allegedly involving in internet fraud.
