{"id":24221,"date":"2020-02-02T23:03:18","date_gmt":"2020-02-02T22:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=24221"},"modified":"2020-02-02T23:03:18","modified_gmt":"2020-02-02T22:03:18","slug":"one-year-after-chopper-crash-osinbajo-thanks-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=24221","title":{"rendered":"One year after chopper crash, Osinbajo thanks God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Release<\/strong><br \/>\nBy <strong>Laolu Akande<\/strong>, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President<br \/>\nExactly a year after the incident, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has described the helicopter crash-landing he and 11 others survived as a miraculous and divine deliverance, while noting that the incident has strengthened his faith in God.<br \/>\nSpeaking to the media after a special thanksgiving service at the Aso Villa Chapel earlier today, Prof. Osinbajo stated that the incident also strengthened his faith in Nigeria, as well as the faith of everyone who survived the chopper crash in Kabba, Kogi State.<br \/>\nThe Vice President said, \u201cI think that what happened on that occasion was so amazing and miraculous, 12 of us in a helicopter; the helicopter crashed and not one scratch on anyone of us. That\u2019s just incredible. So, we can only continue to thank God and praise the Lord Jesus Christ for the awesome deliverance of so many of us. That\u2019s why we are here this morning just to praise God.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24245\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24245\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-24245\" src=\"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/20200203_105053-300x238.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"238\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24245\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The ill-fated helicopter after the crash last year<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n\u201cCan you imagine a situation where one survived a helicopter crash? I think it demonstrates that God is merciful; God is awesome. He is able to do all things. I think it just strengthened my faith and the faith of all those who were there.\u201d<br \/>\nIt would be recalled that during the\u00a0election campaign period, the Vice President had departed Abuja on February 2nd, 2019, on a Chopper ride to Kogi State in continuation of the Family Chats &amp; Next Level engagements.<br \/>\nTwelve persons &#8211; including the VP, the then Minister of State for Labour, Employment and\u00a0Productivity, Prof. Stephen Ocheni, senior presidential aides, security officials and the crew \u2013 were on board the chopper on that day.
