The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Rev. Lawan Andimi, kidnapped by insurgent group, Boko Haram, has, sadly, been matyred.
\nA journalist, known to have ties with the insurgents, Ahmed Salkida, broke the sad news on Twitter on Tuesday.
\n\u201cTo break some news items can traumatize. I\u2019m battling with one of such. Reverend Andimi, abducted by #BokoHaram was executed yesterday.
\n\u201cRev. Andimi was a church leader, a father to his children and the community he served. My condolences go to his family,\u201d he tweeted.
\nAndimi was abducted early this month when Boko Haram insurgents attacked Michika town.
\nIt was Salkida who first released the video of Andimi from the detention of Boko Haram.
\nIn the video, Andimi called on ChristIan leaders and political leaders to facilitate his release, but displayed rare courage when he noted that it was okay by him if he was killed because God would have allowed it.
\nHis words, \u201cI have never been discouraged, because all conditions that one finds himself\u2026 is in the hand of God\u2026 God who made them to take care of me. So, the summary of my speech; I am appealing to my colleagues, reverends, particularly my president, Reverend Joel Billy who is a strong man, a man of compassion and man of love. He can do all his best to speak to our governor, Umaru Jibrilla (Fintiri) and other necessary agents for my release here.
\n\u201cThese people have been doing good to me, they are feeding me with all that I want to eat. They provide a nice place for me to sleep, blanket and every need. So, I believe that they didn\u2019t do anything wrong to me. I believe that He who made them to act in such a way is still alive and will make all arrangements, by the grace of God I will be together with my wife, my children and my colleagues.
