{"id":23895,"date":"2020-01-17T10:43:30","date_gmt":"2020-01-17T09:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=23895"},"modified":"2020-01-17T10:43:30","modified_gmt":"2020-01-17T09:43:30","slug":"for-late-coming-court-revokes-bail-of-abuja-property-developer-sends-him-into-efccs-detention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=23895","title":{"rendered":"For late-coming, court revokes bail of Abuja property developer, sends him into EFCC&#8217;s detention"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For coming late to court, a property developer, Joseph Okolo, fell on the wrong side of Justice D.Z Senchi of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja on Thursday.<br \/>\nJustice Senchi shocked the audience, when he revoked the bail he granted him and ordered that he be remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for arriving the court late.<br \/>\nThe EFCC is prosecuting Idoko on a five count-charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery and criminal breach of trust, having \u00a0allegedly defrauded one Hajiya Halima Babangida in a real estate development deal that went sour.<br \/>\nAt Thursday\u2019s resumed sitting, a prosecution witness was about to be introduced by prosecution counsel, Ekele Iheanacho, when the defendant walked into the courtroom.<br \/>\nA statement by the EFCC&#8217;s spokesman, Mr. Tony Orilade, no reasonable explanation for the defendant\u2019s lateness was offered by the defence counsel, Julius Atanami Wera.<br \/>\nThe infuriated judge had to revoke his bail and ordered his remand in the custody of the EFCC.<br \/>\nHe adjourned the matter until February 4, 2020.<br \/>\nIt could be recalled that the defendant was arraigned on Friday October 25, 2019, alongside his company, Zamtrac Management and City Investment Limited.
