Several accounts connected to the crimes have been frozen though all the alleged crimes took place while Abdul Aziz Yari was Governor in the troubled State.<br \/>\nSokoto Zonal head of the EFCC, Abdullahi Lawal, said the Commission\u00a0&#8220;is currently investigating over 60 cases from Zamfara state in relation to the past administration.&#8221;<br \/>\nHe adds in a statement from the commission, &#8220;These include cases against individuals, public and private organizations as well as government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The total sum involved is over 200 billion Naira.\u00a0 Several bank accounts connected to fraudulent activities\u00a0 have been frozen by the Commission&#8221;.<br \/>\nHe noted that the fear of EFCC&#8217;s investigation has compelled several contractors, \u00a0who collected billions of naira from Zamfara state but failed to deliver, \u00a0to return to site.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1454\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1454\" style=\"width: 293px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1454\" src=\"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Governor-Abdulaziz-Yari-of-Zamfara-State-293x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"293\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1454\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Former Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nHe spoke on Monday while the Sokoto Zonal office was handing over fifty three (53) Tricycles (Keke Napep) recovered from a Zamfara State government contractor.<br \/>\nThe recovery of the tricycles was sequel to investigation on a contract that was initially awarded to Kynco and Wadatau \u00a0at a total cost of N1.2 Billion for the supply of 1000 tricycles.\u00a0 Investigation revealed that only 947 units were supplied before the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past administration in Zamfara state. He described the development was as a milestone in the fight against corruption.<br \/>\nIn his response, the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, who received the 53 recovered tricycles on behalf of Zamfara state government, commended the Commission for its achievements so far in the zone.
