Just like the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, declared on Tuesday, the Presidency has reiterated that President Muhammadu Buhari can run the affairs of state from anywhere in the world.
\nThe Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate),\u00a0Senator Babajide Omoworare,\u00a0 said on Wednesday while addressing journalists in the National Assembly: \u201cThe President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria can work from anywhere he is\u00a0 in the world.\u201d
\nThe President came under attack after the Presidency disclosed that his Chief of Staff, Mr. Abba Kyari, travelled all the way to London to get the signature of Buhari, who is on a two-week private visit there.
\nOn Tuesday, during a visit to Senate President,\u00a0Ahmad Lawan, Oshiomhole said, \u201cI think by signing into law at the Nigerian House in London, it shows that wherever the president is, he is presiding over Nigeria and with the benefit of modern technology we have passed the Mungo Park era.”
\n\u201cSo signing it in London for me has also made several statements \u2013 namely, that wherever national interest is involved, the president is on duty and wherever he is he is presiding.
\n\u201cI also salute his assenting to the bill as fast as he did and even at the Nigerian House in London.\u201d
\nOmoworare added on Wednesday, \u201cContrary to the claims by some individuals and groups,\u00a0 The President has not in any way undermine or relegate the office of the Vice President. He has no reason to do so.
\n\u201cI don\u2019t think there is any way or manner that the office of the Vice President has been relegated….
