{"id":21368,"date":"2019-10-09T17:59:02","date_gmt":"2019-10-09T17:59:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=21368"},"modified":"2019-10-09T17:59:02","modified_gmt":"2019-10-09T17:59:02","slug":"buhari-pledges-to-carry-everyone-along-as-he-receives-ministers-who-served-him-as-military-head-of-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=21368","title":{"rendered":"Buhari pledges to carry everyone along as he receives ministers who served him as military head of state"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By <strong>Femi Adesina<\/strong>, Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity)<br \/><br \/> It was a refreshing time of going down memory lane, as President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received at State House, Abuja, some of the Ministers who served with him as military head of state between January 1984 and August 1985.<br \/><br \/> The President recalled \u201chow we got things done then,\u201d because it was a military administration, and pledged to \u201ccarry everyone along on my last lap as a democratically elected leader.\u201d<br \/><br \/> President Buhari thanked the former Ministers \u201cfor being consistently in touch\u201d and particularly lauded the military for building Abuja as new Federal capital for the country.<br \/><br \/> A minute silence was observed in memory of those who have passed on among the former Ministers.<br \/><br \/> Leader of delegation, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, who served as Minister of External Affairs, said the team came to congratulate the President on his achievements in security, foreign affairs, anti-corruption, education, and many others.<br \/><br \/> \u201cWe were appointed 35 years and nine months ago. Eighteen of us were sworn in. Your leadership was firm, but you also gave us free hand to operate. You knew what each person was doing. We will never forget the opportunity you gave us.
