{"id":17908,"date":"2019-05-14T20:56:50","date_gmt":"2019-05-14T20:56:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=17908"},"modified":"2019-05-14T20:56:50","modified_gmt":"2019-05-14T20:56:50","slug":"u-s-embassy-suspends-dropbox-visa-renewals-in-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=17908","title":{"rendered":"U.S. Embassy suspends \u2018Dropbox\u2019 Visa renewals in Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Vivian Ihechu (<strong>NAN<\/strong>NAN)<br \/>\nThe U.S. Embassy says effective from the close of business on Tuesday, May 14, the U.S. Mission to Nigeria will indefinitely suspend interview waivers for visa renewals, otherwise known as the \u201cDropbox\u201d process.<br \/>\nAccording to it, visa applications will no longer be accepted by DHL in Nigeria.<br \/>\nHowever, those who had already submitted their passports via \u201cDropbox\u201d to DHL for processing either at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the Consulate General office in Lagos, will not be impacted by this change.<br \/>\n\u201cAll applicants in Nigeria seeking a nonimmigrant visa to the U.S. must apply online.<br \/>\n\u201cThey will be required to appear in person at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or U.S. Consulate General in Lagos to submit their application for review.<br \/>\n\u201cApplicants must appear at the location they specified when applying for the visa renewal.<br \/>\n\u201cProcessing of diplomatic and official (A, G, and NATO class) visa applications will continue unchanged,\u2019\u2019 the statement said.<br \/>\nIt noted that the Mission to Nigeria\u2019s processing procedures are regularly reviewed in order to assess its ability to quickly, efficiently, and securely process visa applications.<br \/>\nAccording to the statement, the U.S. Mission is taking this step to provide more efficient customer service and promote legitimate travel, and will continue to facilitate applications of established travelers to the best of its ability.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Vivian Ihechu (NANNAN) The U.S. Embassy says effective from the close of business on Tuesday, May 14, the U.S. Mission to Nigeria will indefinitely suspend interview waivers for visa renewals, otherwise known as the \u201cDropbox\u201d process.
