{"id":17280,"date":"2019-04-27T15:34:09","date_gmt":"2019-04-27T15:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=17280"},"modified":"2019-04-27T15:34:09","modified_gmt":"2019-04-27T15:34:09","slug":"17280","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=17280","title":{"rendered":"Buhari&#8217;s private visit is &#8220;voyage unknown&#8221;, says PDP&#8217;s Secondus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus has described President Muhammadu Buhari&#8217;s private visit to London as a &#8220;voyage unknown&#8221; because he did not transmit a letter to the National Assembly informing the legislative arm of the private visit; and did not hand over to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.<br \/>\nMany have suggested that the visit is for medical reasons, a conclusion senior presidential spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, says they are free to come to.<br \/>\nAt a press conference in Abuja on Friday, SSecondus reiterated the state of insecurity in the country, maintaing that many now live in fear.<br \/>\n\u201cThere is no evidence of the presence of government in this country as crimes of all kinds are committed all over the country and Nigerians have never lived in such a great fear and trembling for their lives.<br \/>\n\u201cFrom Kaduna to Zamfara, Benue to Taraba, Plateau, Lagos to Enugu etc., bloodletting is continuing unabated, even the President\u2019s home state of Katsina has lost about eight local government areas to bandits, not to talk of the North East.\u201d<br \/>\nTo drive home his point, he cited the example of the killings at the Kajuru Holiday rResort in the volatile Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State<br \/>\n\u201cJust last week a female foreign humanitarian worker, Faye Mooney, a Briton was brutally shot dead in Kajuru, Kaduna state. The situation has deteriorated to the extent that this country can no longer protect the lives of international aid workers who are here to help us clear our mess.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, says Nigerians have the right to believe that President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s trip to the United Kingdom is to seek medical attention.<br \/>\nHe stated this on Thursday while featuring on\u00a0Politics Today\u00a0which aired on Channels Television.<br \/>\n\u201cThose who want to interpret everything, those who want to believe all things should just believe that it is a private trip. When a man goes on a private trip, he has the right to use his time the way he deems because he has the right to private time.<br \/>\nSo those who want to believe it\u2019s a medical trip, they have the right to believe, if it pleases them and makes them happier,\u201d he stated.<br \/>\nHis comments follow an earlier announcement that President Buhari will proceed to the UK on a private visit, after commissioning some projects in Maiduguri the Borno state capital.<br \/>\nThe presidency had explained that Buhari is expected to return back to the country on May 5.<br \/>\nBut the presidential spokesman recalled that his principal had not jetted out of the country after the rigorous campaigns.<br \/>\nHe stated that contrary to rumours that the Principal would seek medical attention immediately after the elections, Buhari had been in the country two months after.<br \/>\n\u201cPresident Buhari has since the last weekend in December when he launched the presidential campaign, all through till February he was on campaign stuff around the country.<br \/>\n\u201cElections came and a lot of people expected that immediately after the elections, he will travel out to rest or attend to his health, but we see two months after the elections, the President was working vigorously,\u201d he stated<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus has described President Muhammadu Buhari&#8217;s private visit to London as a &#8220;voyage unknown&#8221; because he did not transmit a letter to the National Assembly informing the legislative arm of the private visit; and did not hand over to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
