{"id":17249,"date":"2019-04-25T19:27:58","date_gmt":"2019-04-25T19:27:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=17249"},"modified":"2019-04-25T19:27:58","modified_gmt":"2019-04-25T19:27:58","slug":"efcc-nabs-32-suspected-internet-fraudsters-in-one-operation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=17249","title":{"rendered":"EFCC Nabs 32 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in One Operation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Thursday, April 25, 2019 arrested 32 suspected internet fraudsters, better known as &#8220;Yahoo-Yahoo Boys&#8221;, a statement by its acting spokesman, Tony Orilade, has disclosed.<br \/>\nThe suspects were arrested at Liberty Estate, Laderin area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital in an early morning sting operation.<br \/>\nRanging between the ages of 15 and 39 years, the suspects were taken by surprise when EFCC operatives swooped on them at one of their havens in the estate.<br \/>\nFourteen of them claimed to be undergraduates, while 18 others said they are self-employed in various vocations.<br \/>\nTheir arrest was sequel to a petition detailing their alleged fraudulent activities, including internet fraud through which they obtain illicit funds from unsuspecting victims.<br \/>\nItems recovered from them include six exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones, several documents containing false pretences and fetish objects.<br \/>\nThe suspects are already helping operatives of the Commission with useful information.<br \/>\nThey will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Thursday, April 25, 2019 arrested 32 suspected internet fraudsters, better known as &#8220;Yahoo-Yahoo Boys&#8221;, a statement by its acting spokesman, Tony Orilade, has disclosed.
