{"id":17012,"date":"2019-04-17T20:48:16","date_gmt":"2019-04-17T20:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=17012"},"modified":"2019-04-17T20:48:16","modified_gmt":"2019-04-17T20:48:16","slug":"recruitment-customs-portal-receives-91000-applications-in-24-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=17012","title":{"rendered":"Recruitment: Customs portal receives 91,000 applications in 24 hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Mustapha Sumaila (<strong>NAN<\/strong>)<br \/>\nLess than 24 hours, after Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) opened its portal for ongoing recruitment exercise, no fewer than 91,000 Nigerians have so far successfully submitted their applications.<br \/>\nOne of the officers in charge of the portal at customs\u2019headquarters, Abuja who preferred anonymity told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that \u201cas at 4:00 P.M, the applications of 91,000 applicants were successfully received.\u201d<br \/>\nNAN reports that NCS opened its portal at 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday for recruitment of 3,200 officers and men to the service.<br \/>\nThe officer disclosed that applications of other Nigerians in diaspora were equally received.<br \/>\nHe added that Nigerians in not less than 41 countries had so far applied for various cadres.<br \/>\nThe Acting Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Human Resources Department, Umar Sanusi, at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja said 800 would be recruited to fill vacancies in the Support Staff for Superintendent Cadre Category.<br \/>\nSanusi said 2,400 would fill those of Customs Inspector and Customs Assistant Cadre in the General Duty Categories.<br \/>\nHe also said that the service\u2019s portal for the recruitment would be opened for 24 hours and would close after three weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mustapha Sumaila (NAN) Less than 24 hours, after Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) opened its portal for ongoing recruitment exercise, no fewer than 91,000 Nigerians have so far successfully submitted their applications.
