The popular jingle is, &#8220;a Prayerless Christian is a Powerless Christian&#8221;.<br \/>\n<strong>The key issue in prayer<\/strong>\u00a0however is how to gain God&#8217;s attention and obtain an answer. Is it by perseverance or pressuring? The difference atimes is not clear to us, but not to God.<br \/>\n<strong>Perseverance<\/strong> is a continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. Our Lord Jesus recommends that in prayer._<br \/>\n<strong>Pressuring<\/strong> however is to persuade or coerce (someone) into doing something. And that is what we atimes inadvertently seek to do by citing our &#8216;spiritual resume&#8217; or our &#8220;fast&#8221; to force an answer from God. It may work but many times to our detriment._<br \/>\n<strong>Israel pressured God<\/strong> for a king and for a change of menu. The prodigal son pressurized his father for his share of the estate.
