{"id":13927,"date":"2018-12-18T06:16:41","date_gmt":"2018-12-18T06:16:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=13927"},"modified":"2018-12-18T06:16:41","modified_gmt":"2018-12-18T06:16:41","slug":"nass-leadership-directs-police-sss-to-secure-complex-for-plenary-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=13927","title":{"rendered":"NASS Leadership Directs Police, SSS to Secure Complex for Plenary Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m-832558069622752855\" class=\"mail-message expanded\"><\/div>\n<div>By Sani Omolori, Clerk of the National Assembly<\/div>\n<div id=\"m-832558069622752855\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The leadership of the National Assembly has directed the Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure adequate security within the vicinity of the National Assembly\u00a0<a dir=\"ltr\" rel=\"noreferrer\">from (Tueday)\u00a0<\/a><a dir=\"ltr\" rel=\"noreferrer\">morning<\/a>\u00a0to enable members and staff come in and perform their legitimate duties without any hinderance.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The directive was passed after a meeting of the joint leadership of the two chambers with the management and representatives of the security agencies.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The meeting was called by the political leadership to listen to the management led by the Clerk of the National Assembly (CNA) on efforts made so far to address the grievances of the striking staff.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe leadership of the National Assembly called the meeting because they know that almost all the issues raised by the striking workers were being addressed by the management. And after listening to the CNA, it was unanimously agreed that the management had made sufficient plans and efforts to address all the grievances of the workers and ensure their happiness.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cWe were sure that the issues raised by the workers have been well attended to and that it is necessary for the business of the National Assembly to continue without any disturbance. Both chambers must hold their normal plenary (Tuesday)\u00a0<a dir=\"ltr\" rel=\"noreferrer\">morning<\/a>\u00a0to prepare the ground for the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari\u00a0<a dir=\"ltr\" rel=\"noreferrer\">on Wednesday, December 19, 2018<\/a>\u00a0to present the budget proposal to the joint sitting of the Senate and the House of Representatives.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cWe have therefore mandated the security agencies to perform their duty of maintaining law and order in the National Assembly Complex and its surrounding.
