{"id":13883,"date":"2018-12-17T10:11:32","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T10:11:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=13883"},"modified":"2018-12-17T10:11:32","modified_gmt":"2018-12-17T10:11:32","slug":"as-babachir-shows-up-in-villa-atiku-berates-apc-govt-over-corruption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=13883","title":{"rendered":"As Babachir shows up in Villa, Atiku berates APC Govt over corruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m-4471734693338728616\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\">By\u00a0<b>Paul Ibe,\u00a0<\/b><b>Media Adviser to Atiku Abubakar.<\/b><\/p>\n<div id=\"m-4471734693338728616\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"conversation-footer\" class=\"spacer\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was taken aback last week when Mr. Babachir Lawal, Buhari\u2019s former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, turned up at the Presidential Villa on Thursday, December 13, 2018, where he was received with pomp and pageantry.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"gmail_quote\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"gmail_quote\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"gmail_quote\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Mr. Babachir Lawal attended the launch of the Together Nigeria organized by the Buhari Support Organization (BSO).<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">It is a very sad day for Nigeria, when the President honours a man proven beyond all reasonable doubt to have soiled his hands with money meant for starving refugees.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">These are the actions which feed the perceptions that has made Nigeria turn in its worst ever Corruption Perception Index rating by Transparency International where we went back 12 steps in 2018\u2019s rankings, moving from 136 under President Jonathan to 148 today.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">According to Transparency International, Nigeria is more corrupt today and we ask the government to answer a few questions including:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Who reinstated and double promoted Maina?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Who owns the Ikoyi Apartment $42 million?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0What has happened to Aisha Buhari\u2019s ADC who looted \u20a62.5 billion?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Why was the $25 billion NNPC contracts awarded without due process investigated?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Why haven\u2019t those beyond Buhari\u2019s padded budget scandals been sacked or charged to court?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0When will Babachir be charged?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0How come fuel subsidy has doubled even when petrol price has doubled?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Why did President Buhari lift the suspension of the corrupt NHIS boss, Usman Yusuf, before public pressure forced him to suspend him? Why has he not been charged?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0In May, Transparency International warned that Buhari had increased Security Vote by 600%, yet our soldiers have no weapons and are killed by terrorists. Where is the money going?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0In February Buhari withdrew $1 billion from the Excess Crude Account to ostensibly fund the war on terror, yet the Chief of Army Staff said after Metele that they have no weapons.
