{"id":13304,"date":"2018-11-08T07:55:01","date_gmt":"2018-11-08T07:55:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=13304"},"modified":"2018-11-08T07:55:01","modified_gmt":"2018-11-08T07:55:01","slug":"dss-arrests-alleged-kidnappers-and-murderers-of-kaduna-king","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/?p=13304","title":{"rendered":"DSS arrests alleged kidnappers and murderers of Kaduna king."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of State Services (DSS) in Kaduna State has arrested the suspected kidnappers and murderers of the king of Adara land, Late Agom Adara, Dr. Maiwada Galadima.<br \/>\nThe six suspects were paraded on Wednesday at the state headquarters of the Department of State Security Services (DSS).<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13309\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13309\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-13309\" src=\"https:\/\/everyday.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Suspected-Kidnappers-and-Killers-of-Agom-Adara-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13309\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The suspected kidnappers.<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nAccording to the state Director of the DSS, Mahmud Ningi, the suspects, all male, were tracked and arrested at different locations in Igabi, Soba, Kachia of Kaduna State; and Jos in Plateau State.<br \/>\nA statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to Governor Nasir el-Rufai, Samuel Aruwan, said , \u201cThe Kaduna State Government welcomes the arrest of suspects in the kidnap and murder of HRH Agom Adara, Dr. Maiwada Galadima.<br \/>\n\u201cThe government commends the security agencies for\u00a0this breakthrough, and urges that all agencies must do their utmost to conclude investigations, arraign the suspects before a competent court and ensure that justice is done.<br \/>\n\u201cDiligent prosecution of criminal suspects is vital to the social order, assuring victims\u00a0that they will get\u00a0justice and signaling to criminals the\u00a0inevitability of punishment.\u00a0This reassures citizens\u00a0and duly increases confidence in\u00a0the law enforcement agencies.<br \/>\n\u201cGovernment\u00a0appeals to all residents to\u00a0keep the state calm, and to their utmost to preserve and uphold harmony in their communities. It is important to stand together\u00a0as a law-abiding community to defeat criminal elements and deny them any succour, be it tribe, tongue or religion.\u201d<br \/>\nDr. Galadima was kidnapped on the Kachia-Kaduna Road a day after a community in his domain, Kasuwan Magani, went up in a mindless ethno-religious violence that claimed scores of lives. His wife, who was kidnapped alongside him and his driver, was released the next day, Saturday. His Police orderly and three others were gunned down during the kidnap.<br \/>\nAfter collecting a ransom of over N6 million on the head of the king a week after his abduction on October 26, his abductors allegedly murdered him and dumped his body along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, amidst various conspiracy theories that fingered state government top operatives.<br \/>\nThe late Agom Adara is said to be a strong and quiet opponent of government policies, especially those that seek to whittle down the powers of traditional institutions of the mainly Christian-dominated Southern Kaduna peoples.<br \/>\nOther unverifiable stories had spread in the State, where mutual suspicion on ethno-religious bases has reigned for decades.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of State Services (DSS) in Kaduna State has arrested the suspected kidnappers and murderers of the king of Adara land, Late Agom Adara, Dr. Maiwada Galadima.
