He encourages both sides to go back to the negotiating table and reach an agreement.<br \/>\n\u201cOur economy is already on its knees and escalation of this crisis into full blown industrial strike action may have dire consequences for our nation\u201d.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\"><b>Meanwhile, t<\/b>he Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation has described \u00a0the f<b>uel subsidy regime as inefficient, and shrouded in secrecy.<\/b><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It expressed alarm by an online newspaper, Premium Times, report of illegal diversion of $1.05 billion to secretly fund subsidy payment on petroleum products.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m3634787368284992874\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"gmail_quote\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n&#8220;This revelation has once again brought to the fore the need to review the administration and management of the subsidy regime by the Federal Government.<br \/>\n&#8220;We believe that the subsidy regime as it is currently being administered is inefficient and shrouded in secrecy.<br \/>\n&#8220;We are committed to the elimination of this process that is undertaken without any recourse to transparency and due process.<br \/>\n&#8220;Moreover, the retention of revenue by revenue earning agencies of the government for their operation is hardly done judiciously and responsibly.<br \/>\n&#8220;We will commit to a review of that policy such that every revenue earning agency is brought into the federal budget in accordance with international best practice.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Presidential candidate of the PDP Atiku Abubakar has restated his position in support of labour in its struggle for a living wage.
