Kwara State Council of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has directed all workers in the state, both public and private sectors and members of Civil Society Organisations to join the NLC rally on minimum wage on Tuesday.<br \/>\nThe plan for the rally was contained in a letter to State Governor, AbdulFatah Ahmed by the Chairman of the NLC in the state, Comrade Yekini Agunbiade, on Friday.<br \/>\nThe letter, he wrote, was to inform the Governor that all workers, market men and women as well as artisans would take part in the sensitisation rally called by the National body of NLC.<br \/>\nAgunbiade, in the letter titled: \u201cDirective on National rally on new minimum wage\u201d said total mobilisation of workers across the country had commenced.<br \/>\n\u201cIt has become obvious that the Federal Government is foot-dragging or unwilling to implement the N30, 000 as agreed by the Tripartite Committee on New national minimum wage.<br \/>\n\u201cThe rally is to sensitise workers and Nigerians on the New Minimum Wage issue should be held in all the States of the Federation, including FCT, Abuja on Tuesday 30th October, 2018,\u201d Agunbiade added.<br \/>\nAccording to Comrade Agunbiade, the rally, which will begin from 8 a.m. was in preparation for an indefinite nation-wide strike action to commence on November 6, 2018.<br \/>\nAgunbiade said the rally would take-off from the Labour House through Lajorin Street\/Murtala Mohammed Way-Post office-Emir Road-Taiwo Isale-Unity Road-A-Division Round About-Ahmadu Bello Way to Government House.<br \/>\n\u201cConsequent upon the above, the leadership of the Congress and all workers of the State of Harmony are looking forward to Your Excellency\u2019s cooperation and understanding in this regard,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Wole Adedeji, Ilorin The.
