A civil rights organization, Network for Peace and Development (NPD) has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the lawmaker in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli for the recent killings and violent attacks in Twon-brass.<\/div>\n

The NPD said if the lawmaker is not arrested and made to face the law, the oil rich Brass Kingdom will not know peace, alleging that he is responsible for the unrest in the area.<\/div>\n

The Coordinator of the NPD, Mr. Temple Igbikiri, in a statement accused the lawmaker of arming youths of Brass and recruiting known cultists to advance his political interest.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
According to him, the legislator has shunned every avenue to bring peace to Brass, just as he has reportedly refused to honour the\u00a0 invitation of the police to clear his name from the recent crisis that left some youths dead and several properties destroyed.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The group, therefore, called on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to declare him wanted and move against his terror group for the interest of the people of Brass Local Government Area.<\/div>\n

The organisation noted that the lawmaker is currently in Abuja with his godfather, looking for presidential cover, in order to avoid being arrested by security agents.<\/div>\n

They also called on the state and federal government to increase the number of security personnel in Brass until peace is finally restored.<\/div>\n

The statement reads: \u201cWe have been reliably informed that the lawmaker has refused to honour the invitation of the police over the recent crisis in Brass Local Government Area. Rather he has eloped to Abuja to seek for presidential cover through his master, ….<\/div>\n

“We want to make it clear that until (he) is arrested and meant to face the law, the people of Brass will not know peace. Therefore we call on the Inspector General of Police to declare him wanted.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“With the 2019 general elections fast approaching, if (he) is not arrested, we will see more deaths and destruction. He is only interested in using crude force to find his way to the House of Representatives next year.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“We sympathize with the family of those who lost their loved ones and use this statement to warn youths not engage themselves in acts that will lead to their untimely death or bring serious body damage.
