Hundreds of thousands in confusion as Civil Defence says it is not recruiting

Palpable confusion is in the air as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it is not recruiting at all.

In fact, it claims its site was hacked, amidst scoffs that the organisation is lying and simply wants to shut out hundreds of thousands to favour a few.

Applicants wonder why it took the NSCDC weeks to take action after its site was allegedly compromised by fraudsters.

“This is supposed to be a security outfit,” Bola Alayande lamented.

A terse statement from the organisation’s spokesman, Emmanuel Okeh, reads: The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu  wishes to inform the general public to disregard rumours making the rounds that NSCDC is recruiting or doing replacement secretly and favouring children and candidates of top government functionaries or influential persons in Nigeria.

The Corps is not recruiting as widely speculated on the internet and various social media platforms. Beware of 419 and fraudsters who have hacked into NSCDC’s website to dupe innocent and desperate job seekers online.

Please ignore all messages with religious undertone going viral, it is an attempt by mischief makers to use religion to dent the image of the Corps.

Be informed that when it is time for recruitment, the process will be published in National Dailies and Electronic Media.
