Amaka, the wife of a former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba; Nnena, wife of prominent Anambra politician and businessman, Nicholas Ukachukwu, were among six persons who died in a road accident in Ondo State.

An unnamed young lady, who lost her mother and sister in another accident she was in earlier this year, escaped a second time.

There has been no word on the other persons who passed and those injured in the multiple auto crash.

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with Ndoma-Egba over the loss of Amaka, noting, in a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, that his thoughts and prayers are with them in their period of grief.

He prays divine comfort for the entire family of Ndoma-Egba and peaceful repose of the soul of the departed.

It has been a particularly painful year for Senator Ndoma-Egba, who this year has had a string of misfortunes. His property was weeks ago looted by hoodlums in the the aftermath of the #EndSARS protest.

He was away abroad on medical treatment when his home was looted. He has had to bury at least two loved ones this year and remained unreachable all through Friday on phone.

Amaka had a daughter with the former Senator before passing.

The tragic accident occurred on Thursday evening along the Ore/Okitipupa Expressway in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo state.

A truck was said to have veered of its course and rammed into two cars, and a bus belonging to the Sports Department of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA).

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, also condoled with the former Senate Leader.

“I commiserate with Senator Ndoma-Egba over the sudden death of his wife.

“My heart goes out to the former Senate Leader and his family over this tragic incident and pray God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” Lawan said, in a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Ola Awoniyi.

He prays for the repose of her soul and that Almighty God grants her eternal rest.
