Former Zamfara Governor, Mahmud Shinkafi, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for yet to be disclosed offences.

He was spotted at the EFCC’s Idiagbon House headquarters at about 7:00 p.m. as he was led into the premises by detectives.

Shinkafi became the first deputy governor  in the recent political history of Nigeria to take over from his boss in 2007; but he was soon to fall out with his predecessor, Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima, leading to his loss of the coveted seat in 2011.

EFCC Spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren said on phone last night he was unaware of the arrest of Shinkafi.

Details soon…
