Just months after he was denied the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest the gubernatorial election, Governor Akinwumi Ambode, has a fresh headache to contend with: Lagos lawmakers are planning to have him sacked.
Ambode is being accused of gross misconduct by the lawmakers who sat late into Monday evening deliberating on matters related to the 2019 Budget and the finances of the State.
Of the 34 lawmakers present, 28 wanted Ambode impeached while six pushed that he be allowed to resign.
Lawmakers lamented it is the first time in the last 18 years that Lagos Budget was not presented between October and December before the budget year began. Members wondered where the Governor has been drawing down expenditure from since the year began.
