Four expatriates working on a solar power project to serve parts of Kaduna State have been kidnapped along with their driver.
Two policemen who were with them were shot dead, early reports indicated.
A source said contact was still being awaited from the abductors as other channels were being worked to ensure the safety of the expatriates.
“They were picked along the Kagarko-here road,” the source said. The road is a popular route for those travelling to the southern part of Kaduna, Plateau State, and is known to have witnessed a rash of abductions.
The Police has often arrested and paraded kidnappers in that part of the country, but the menace continues.
A word was being expected from the Canadian High Commission at press time.
