Our entire lives are fueled by FAITH and HOPE. We make plans for our lives believing that we will be there to execute them. That takes faith and hope. But what is the basis or substance of our faith?
We can have faith in our wisdom, in others, in systems, or even in our strong and cherished religious beliefs. Faith on those foundations is shaky and uncertain. Jesus said, “have faith in God” (Mark 11:22)
Genuine faith is built and anchored on our relationship with God through His word, for there is no faith untill God has spoken. “Faith comes by hearing… the word of God” (Romans 10:17)
A genuine, living and sustaining *faith is expressed in our praying, our believing, our confessions and our obedience* to God’s instructions.
Prayerlessness and disregard for God’s word, therefore, is not just a weakness but a clear evidence of our lack of faith in God.
