With the President and his aides off to Daura, Katsina State, to vote, the official home front in Abuja fell to opposition candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubaka, who forged ahead of sitting President Muhammadu Buhari within Aso Rock, the President’s official residence.
But the margin is only 17 votes, with Atiku scoring 1,030 and Buhari getting 1,013.
However, Buhari trounced Atiku by winning his own polling unit PU003 at Sarkin Yara ward A, Daura, with a very wide margin of 523 votes to Atiku’s three votes.
Buhari scored 186 votes to defeat Atiku, who got 167 votes in the Polling Unit where Atiku voted in Ajiya Ward in Yola.
