The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, has resigned from his position to pursue a seat in the Senate, formally declaring his intention to represent Ondo Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections.
In a letter addressed to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Fasoranti announced his decision, citing a “deep sense of responsibility” and a longstanding commitment to public service as key motivations for entering the race.
The former SSG, who boasts over three decades of experience in the medical field, said his career has shaped his understanding of leadership as one rooted in compassion, discipline, and responsiveness to the needs of the people. He highlighted his tenure at the State House Medical Centre in Abuja, where he rose to a directorate position before retiring in 2024, as well as his subsequent role in the Ondo State government, as critical experiences that have prepared him for national legislative duties.
Fasoranti noted that his exposure to governance, policy implementation, and health sector administration has strengthened his capacity to contribute meaningfully at the federal level. According to him, his ambition is driven by a desire to ensure effective and people-oriented representation for constituents in Ondo Central.
He also emphasized the need for inclusive and impactful governance, stating that leadership must deliver tangible benefits and create opportunities for development across communities. His campaign, he said, will focus on consolidating democratic gains while amplifying the voices of the people.
Appealing for support from voters across Ondo West, Ondo East, Ifedore, Akure South, Akure North, and Idanre local government areas, Fasoranti pledged to provide purposeful representation and translate the aspirations of his constituents into actionable policies.
