The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has thrown its weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, pledging to mobilise support across the state ahead of the next general elections.

The endorsement was announced at a well-attended stakeholders’ interactive meeting held at the party’s state secretariat in Awka. The meeting, which began on Tuesday, extended into the early hours of Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

The call for President Tinubu’s return was first moved by former senator representing Anambra North Senatorial Zone, Emma Obiajulu Anosike. Party leaders and stakeholders at the meeting unanimously adopted the motion, citing the need to strengthen the national economy, deepen party unity and rebuild political structures ahead of 2027.

The gathering also provided an opportunity for the party to harmonise outstanding issues ahead of its Ward, Local Government and State Congresses. The process commenced on Wednesday with Ward Congresses held across the state’s 326 electoral wards.

State APC Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike, said the party’s immediate goal is to mobilise members across Anambra’s 21 local government areas and 326 wards. He disclosed that the party would work in political collaboration with the state’s ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to achieve at least a 95 per cent increase in votes for President Tinubu in 2027.

Ejidike expressed optimism about the president’s prospects, noting that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is also supportive of Tinubu’s re-election.

He stressed that unity remains the foundation for meaningful political progress. “No political strategy, no matter how transparent, can succeed in an atmosphere of division. Our foremost responsibility is unity. The ‘One APC, One Tinubu Project’ must be our guiding principle in Anambra State,” Ejidike said.

He added that the party leadership under his watch would prioritise harmony, collaboration and coordinated mobilisation across all 21 local government areas.

“Our grassroots structures must be vibrant, functional and connected to the people. Every ward, every unit and every community must feel the presence and impact of the APC-led government in Nigeria. This is how we will consolidate our gains and deliver an even more convincing victory for President Tinubu in the next election,” he stated.

Ejidike reiterated that the Anambra APC is fully prepared to ensure Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Also speaking at the meeting were the party’s candidate in the November 8, 2025 governorship election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu; his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife; and the party’s senatorial by-election candidate, Chief Azuka Okwuosa. They described the gathering as the largest assembly of APC stakeholders since the conclusion of the 2025 governorship poll in the state.

The leaders expressed satisfaction that peace and unity had returned to the Anambra APC, positioning the party for a stronger showing in future elections.
