Mr. Segun Shonubi has been honoured with the prestigious 2025 Outstanding Resource Person Award by the Lagos Country Club, in recognition of his outstanding service and contributions to the Club.
The award was presented at the Club’s 2026 New Year Party by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, who represented the Special Guest of Honour, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

In his citation, the President of the Lagos Country Club, Mr. Seyi Adewunmi, said Mr. Shonubi was selected for the honour for exemplifying the Club’s core values through unwavering dedication and selfless service. He noted that these qualities have significantly advanced the ideals and objectives of the institution.
Mr. Shonubi, who serves as Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, was described as a visionary leader. Under his leadership, the Committee successfully revived the Lagos Country Club Business Forum after a 10-year hiatus, repositioning it as a leading platform for thought leadership and collaboration on strategies for national growth and economic stability. The Committee has also initiated strategic engagements with key stakeholders, including political leaders, senior media executives and captains of industry.
A seasoned professional, Mr. Shonubi has enjoyed an illustrious career spanning several decades. He previously served as Director of Membership Services and later retired as Director of Capacity Building, Certification and Standards at The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He currently serves as an Executive Director at FIC Professionals Network Limited, where he contributes to the advancement of Nigeria’s financial inclusion ecosystem.
Mr. Shonubi is married to Hon. Justice Adenike Shonubi of the Lagos State High Court.
