Sad: Governor Namadi loses son 24 hours after mother’s death

It was another day of mourning for Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State after he lost his 24-year-old son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi,  24 hours after he lost his mother, Maryam Namadi.

He announced the passing of his mother, Maryam Namadi on Wednesday in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Gumel, on Wednesday in Dutse.

Maryam died in the early hours of Wednesday, December 25, and was buried according to the Islamic rites in Kafinhausa town at about 4:00 p.m.

On Thursday, Namadi announced the death of his 24-year-old son in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Hamisu Mohammed Gumel.

Reads the statement:“To Allah belongs that which He has taken, and to Him belongs that which He has given, and everything has an appointed time with Him.

“With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family; his dear son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.

“He departed this world this afternoon (Thursday, December 26th, 2024) as a result of a ghastly motor accident along Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road.

“The burial rite is taking place at this moment in Kafin Hausa town, in accordance with Islamic traditions. A 24 year old, late Abdulwahab is survived by his parents and many siblings.” l
