The Imo State Police Command, has vowed to fish out the killers of security operatives at Ehime Mbano on Monday.
Recall that had reported that eight security personnel were deceived into an ambush, killed and then set ablaze.
On Wednesday, the Police vowed to fish out and prosecute those responsible for the heinous and blood-curdling act, which gory photos were circulating online by Thursday
In a statement, PPolice spokesman in Imo Mr Henry Okoye, said, “The JTF team comprising two officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, one personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, one Police officer and an Air Force Officer were lured to an ambush and burnt to death alongside their two Hilux patrol vehicles,” the statement said.
It said that the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Mohammed Barde, had deployed a Special Tactical Team and operational assets to apprehend the hoodlums responsible for the dastardly act.
Already, the Commissioner of Police for the state extended his condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased officers.
“CP Barde, assures the general public that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are made to face the full wrath of the law.”
The Police said it will liaise with other sister security agencies in providing adequate security in Imo State.
