Still reeling from its inexplicable decision to import 18,760 conference bags for over N320 million, the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) leaders and members watched in horror as members threw caution to the wind and physically fought during a football match on Monday between its Onitsha and Abuja branches at a football pitch in the federal capital.
The exact cause of the fisticuff was not known, but a trending video on social media captured the moment the so-called “learned gentlemen” resorted to blows, as female members pleaded for decorum in the background.
It is not the first time lawyers will be involved in ungentlemanly conduct during the annual conference. At the last one, members fought and struggled for conference bags and materials, to the chagrin of others.
An investigation was conducted but it’s outcome has remained shrouded.
