Ifunanya Excel Grant, the young lawyer accused by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) of unacceptable behaviour by posing almost nude and allegedly smoking indian hemp on social media has asked to be left alone.
“My official statement to the NBA And Nigerians.
“Please I’m not the one on Twitter I have never been in Twitter.
“I have been silent for so long because I’m not the type to talk too much but it’s finally time I speak up & clear my name.
“Dearest @Nigerianbar I don’t bother anyone.
“I’m a model, actress and musician and all I do is live, mind my business and chase my dreams.
“Please, kindly leave me alone ???????? Thanks,” Grant said on social media.
NBA dragged Ms. Grant before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee by the NBA.
Grant said she is not a practicing lawyer, never appeared on Twitter and remains a model and actress as a means of earning her living.
Recall that the Aba branch of he NBA has denied claims that controversial Nigerian lawyer and social media influencer Ifunanya Excel Grant, known online as “Baddest Lawyer,” is one of its members.
“For the records, we wish to state categorically that Miss Ifunanya Excel Grant is not a member of the NBA, Aba Branch, and she is unknown to NBA, Aba Branch.
“While we support every effort of our great association, the NBA, to rid the legal profession of the few bad eggs, we must request that painstaking efforts be taken by officers concerned to ensure that innocent and law-abiding practitioners are not unwittingly held out in bad light to the public,” the statement said.
