The bodies of three of the 13 medical students declared missing following a boat cruise mishap in Calabar, Cross River State at the weekend have been recovered and buried at the MilitaryCementry in Calabar.
The 3 medical students had been declared missing after rescue of 10 others.
The medical students, from different universities in Nigeria, were in Calabar for the medical students’ games., when the boat they were cruising in capsized on June 24.
“Ten were rescued alive as soon as the boat capsized while the three went missing,” said Cross River State Police Commissioner Gyogon Augustine Grimah.
He gave the identities of the deceased students as Mustapha Aminu Tukur and Kabiru Hamza while the third victim has not been identified.
Tukur and Hamza are from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, while the third student was from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
