Just 10 days after a storey building on Banana Island collapsed allegedly due to faulty construction, followed by a truck running into its pillars, it has happened, again, in Lagos.
This time, it is at another highbrow area of Ladipo Oluwole Street, GRA, Apapa area of Lagos, where a five-storey structured collapsed.
The building under construction, collapsed allegedly following a thunderstrike, amid other suggestions that constructions standards were not met.
Already, the site has been sealed by the appropriate govevent authority.
Asimiyu Tiamiyu, a volunteer with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) in Ajeromi Ifelodun LCDA, said no casualty was recorded in the incident.
He said there were no workers present at the s
cene of the incident, adding that the state government must beam a searchlight on the recurring incident of building collapse in the state.
