A mob attack targeted at the Task Force set up in Abuja to remove illegal structures was on Monday unable to stop the officials as hundreds of shanties and illegal structures were pulled down in Dei-Dei community.
The community on Nnamdi Azikiwe Northern Expressway, also known as the Abuja-Zuba Expressway, is notorious for riots, because it harbours a large number of residents, traders, and miscreants who live in shanties around the area.
An Independent Television (ITV) clip of the demolition exercise also showed the head of the team and Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Ikharo Attah, admitting the mob attack, but saying his team carried out its assignment.
