President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated his controversial Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie as substantive chairman of the Niger Deltabjbbi kk Development Commission (NDDC).
Some of the new nominees for the NDDC b⅜bjboard include:
• Hon.Gbenga Odegba (Ondo, South-West)
• Engr. Anthony Ekene (Imo, South-East)
• Onyekachi Dimgba (Rivers, South-South)
• Alhaji Mohammed Kabiru Abubakar (Zonal Representative, Nasarawa)
• Professor Tallen Mamma, SAN (North-East Representative, Adamawa)
• Sodique Sani (North-West, Zonal Representative)
• Chief Dr. Samuel Ibukun (MD)
• General Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere (Rtd) (Executive of Finance)
• Charles Ogunmola (Executive Director Project, South-West)
• Dimgba Erugba State representative (Abia, South-East)
• Dr Ene Wilcox (Akwa Ibom, State Representative, South-South)
• Dr Pius Odudu (Edo, South-South)
In his letter to the Senate which contained the list of nominees, Buhari asked the chamber to confirm the appointments.
At Wednesday’s plenary Senate President Ahmad Lawan read the letter from the President to his colleagues.
Dr. Lawan took time to explain to his colleagues why the President forwarded another list after a previous one in 2021 was screened and confirmed by the lawmakers.
He said that Buhari’s decision to send another list of nominees for confirmation was because there was a flaw in the previous compilation.
