Bad day for Lagos Assembly as member dies at Jos rally as Tinubu promises to build on Buhari’s achievements

A Lagos State lawmaker, Hon. Sobur Olayiwola Olawale, lawmaker representing Mushin Constituency II, is dead.

Popularly called Omititi, Olawale was said to have slumped and died in Jos, Plateau State capital, at the kick-off of the campaign of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement, Hon. (Engr) Setonji David, Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, said: “It is with deep sadness, sense of loss and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and friend, Hon. Abdulsobur Olayiwola Olawale (alias OMITITI) representing Mushin Constituency 02 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, who passed on today.

“Hon. Olawale was until his untimely demise the Chairman House Committee on Local Government and Community Relations, a second term lawmaker left us unexpectedly and threw the who House into mourning.

“This death really hit us below the belt. We will all miss him more than words can express. We urge you to join us in prayers for his family at this time. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, the APC presidential candidate has again reiterated that he will build on President Muhammadu Buhari achievements if elected next February.

According to him, the sitting has done well in infrastructural development adding that he laid a solid foundation for the development of agriculture, among others

“We were insecure, we turned to retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and he embarked on rehabilitation recovery and redeeming of Nigeria.

“He started by destroying the terrorists’ flags systematically, tactically and frontally and today there are no flags of strange military colours in any of our local governments in Nigeria.

“Nigeria was sinking but Buhari pulled us out and said that Nigeria will not sink in his time and in the time of the APC…”

He promised to continue the oil exploration in all frontiers in the basins and develop commercial oil found in Gombe State and Lake Chad Basin.

On looters, he said, “We will never surrender to them to stop the efforts to clean the rot they left us in. We will assemble the best team to reverse the decay. We are determined to ensure that nobody will go to bed without food in their stomach.

“Buhari cares and we care too, instead of letting them distract us, we will follow our right path and ensure that we continue with the good work”.
